Some weekend finds to continue the stock-up-the-shop efforts:
- Ben Seibel Iroquois Impromptu "El Camino" small pitcher/creamer
- Arabia "Oliivi" 8 cups and saucers (Designed by Ulla Procope in the 1960s. Perfect condition.)
- Denby England "Gypsy" platter (70s-80s)
- Large stoneware shakers (Made in Japan, have handles that are a bit hidden.)
- Stainless cream and sugar set (I try not to buy C & S sets, because I really don't think people use them so much anymore, but I really like the shape of these.)
And one more funny little addition:
How fun are these? Friehof Jagertee is an Austrian alcoholic beverage "punch," to be heated and served to hunters, hikers, skiers...after a long day in the alps. :) Doesn't that sound lovely? They definitely feel Christmas-y to me. These mugs must have been a promotional item. I love the graphics, colors, and the vintage nordic ski vibe - the boots, poles, skis, sweaters and hats.
Having a ski-fanatic-Norwegian-blooded husband who did the longer-than-average ski "bum" thing in Vail, then living in our turn-of-the century log cabin at 8,500 feet for 8 years with said husband here in Colorado, and just being a winter-loving Wisconsin-born girl all contribute to my love of all things alpine. These mugs get me excited to practice my measly skiing skills this winter, learning along with my 3 and 6 year-old, and then be rewarded with a warm drink in a cozy mountain lodge. Here's to winter!

Nice finds. I have a real soft spot for Ben Seibel.
ReplyDeleteyou found some great stuff this week. I too love the Ben Seibel.
ReplyDeletekeep buying c&s sets, we use them all the time (we are tea drinkers) and besides, they make great little vases. I keep my kitchen soap pads in a sugar bow, but you can use them for nuts/olives/sauce/relish etc.
ReplyDeleteI don't use my C & C sets for what they were actually intended but keep collecting them for their fun shapes and forms. I've never come across a stainless steel set so am envious of yours!
ReplyDeleteJenny,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful finds! I love every single one, and I think I am a little jealous of you... The Arabia set made my heart skip a beat... lovely.
This must be mug week lol several of us have posted about mugs. I love yours, how unusual!
ReplyDeleteFound your blog on Thrift Share Monday, it is great, now following! I love your finds, those mugs are so much fun! If alcohol was more involved in skiing here (after-skiing of course), then I would be MUCH more inclined to go!
ReplyDeleteAh, my parents had that Denby pattern in green as their wedding china. The pink is prettier though!
ReplyDeleteAnd the mugs are a lot of fun.
Oh, I love all things nordic/alpine/tyrolean and those adorable mugs remind me of christmas spent in Zermatt a couple years ago. Heavenly!
ReplyDeleteLove those mugs :)
