little clown

An update on that cute little clown bank that I found last weekend... He shined up quite nicely and has just a couple tiny "dings." It does have the original screw to hold the two pieces together, even though it's not pictured here. One thing I really like about it is that the bottom is weighted to give the clown an almost Roly-Poly feel.

Did a bit of research and it's made by Raimond. It was actually marked, but I hadn't noticed previously.

There are several of these out there on Ebay and Etsy, so not a super rare or valuable item, selling anywhere from $11 - $26. From the 1960s, most likely intended as a baby gift. I've had some stainless serving pieces marked "Raimond Denmark" in the past and I found some items online labeled "Raimond Made in England." So, not 100% sure about company location or history.
